About the Role

Primary Aimline is seeking a Mid-Level Electrical & Data Link Engineer to support the development, integration, and testing of electrical systems, tactical communications, and radar interfaces for Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) solutions.

This role will support the integration of radar systems, communications hardware, networking equipment, and command-and-control (C2) interfaces to enable reliable detection, tracking, and engagement of airborne threats. The ideal candidate has experience working with electrical systems, RF communications, tactical data links, and multidisciplinary engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Required: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3–7 years of professional electrical engineering experience.
  • Experience integrating electrical systems, communications equipment, or tactical networking solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical hardware and interface issues.
  • Understanding of Ethernet networking and digital communication protocols.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance if required.

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (CUAS), radar systems, or integrated air defense solutions.
  • Experience integrating radar systems with Command-and-Control (C2) architectures.
  • Experience with tactical radios, RF communications, data links, and networked sensor systems.
  • Familiarity with Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system interface management.
  • Experience with communication protocols such as Ethernet, UDP/TCP, CAN, RS-422/485, MIL-STD-1553, or similar.
  • Knowledge of radar fundamentals, target tracking, and sensor integration.
  • Familiarity with EMI/EMC testing (MIL-STD-461), environmental qualification (MIL-STD-810), and electrical qualification testing.
  • Experience supporting hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), system integration laboratories, or field test events.
  • Experience using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, logic analyzers, and other electrical test equipment.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB, Python, or LabVIEW for engineering analysis and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Design, integrate, and support electrical and communication subsystems for CUAS platforms.
  • Support integration of radar systems with command-and-control (C2) systems and mission software.
  • Develop and maintain electrical interface documentation, wiring diagrams, schematics, and Interface Control Documents (ICDs).
  • Support integration of tactical radios, networking equipment, Ethernet-based communications, and data link architectures.
  • Assist with development and verification of radar, communication, and electrical interfaces between system components.
  • Perform electrical system troubleshooting and root cause analysis during integration and qualification testing.
  • Support laboratory integration, hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL), field testing, and customer demonstrations.
  • Coordinate with systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering teams.
  • Participate in System Requirements Reviews (SRR), Preliminary Design Reviews (PDR), Critical Design Reviews (CDR), Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and Production Readiness Reviews (PRR).
  • Support verification, validation, qualification testing, and production readiness activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering documentation, and customer deliverables.
  • Support supplier integration and technical coordination activities.
