About the Role
Primary Aimline is seeking a motivated Journeyman Systems Engineer to support engineering efforts. This position will support systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle, including requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, qualification testing, production readiness, and product delivery.
The ideal candidate is an early-career engineer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills who enjoys working in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment supporting the development of complex systems.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
0–3 years of systems engineering or related engineering experience.
Understanding of systems engineering principles and the product development lifecycle.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance if required.
Preferred:
Internship, co-op, or professional experience supporting aerospace, defense, or other complex technical programs.
Familiarity with the Systems Engineering "V" lifecycle.
Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo.
Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and SysML concepts.
Knowledge of military qualification standards, including environmental qualification (MIL-STD-810), EMI/EMC testing (MIL-STD-461), ESD controls, reliability and maintainability, qualification testing, and verification methodologies.
Familiarity with requirements verification, configuration management, and technical baselines.
Experience supporting laboratory integration, system integration, or field testing.
Knowledge of production readiness and DD250 government acceptance processes is a plus.
Responsibilities
Support systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.
Assist with requirements analysis, decomposition, allocation, and traceability.
Support development and maintenance of system architecture, interface definitions, and technical documentation.
Participate in system integration, verification, validation, and qualification activities.
Support planning and execution of laboratory, environmental, EMI/EMC, and system qualification testing.
Analyze test results and assist with documenting findings, discrepancies, and corrective actions.
Support technical reviews, including System Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Production Readiness Review (PRR).
Coordinate with software, hardware, electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, quality, and test engineering teams.
Support development of verification matrices, requirements traceability, and configuration management activities.
Assist with root cause investigations and technical issue resolution.
Contribute to production readiness and product acceptance activities, including DD250 support when applicable.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation for internal and customer reviews.
