About the Role

The Program Manager is responsible for owning and executing multiple research and development programs, with accountability for cost, schedule, technical performance, and assigned budgets. This role serves as a key customer‑facing position, coordinating customer visits, executive briefings, and leadership reviews while supporting program objectives. The Program Manager leads cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and functional organizations, applies Earned Value Management practices, manages Integrated Master Schedules and Plans, and supports risk and opportunity management. The role also includes supporting proposal and capture activities, developing program communications and reports, and using project management tools such as MS Project to ensure successful program execution throughout the full program lifecycle.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 7+ years of experience, preferably in Business or a STEM discipline.
  • Proven experience serving as a Program Manager for R&D programs.
  • Strong knowledge of Earned Value Management (EVM), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) / Integrated Master Plan (IMP), and risk and opportunity management.
  • Experience with profit and loss (P&L) responsibility or managing assigned program budgets.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams across engineering, operations, and support functions.
  • Proficiency with MS Project or equivalent project management tools.

Preferred: 
  • Experience with multiple contract types (FFP, CPFF, etc.).
  • Proposal development and capture support experience.
  • Experience managing programs across the full lifecycle, from concept through execution and closeout.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to balance technical, cost, and schedule priorities.
  • Prior production or manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver internal and external presentations, communications, and reports.
  • Own and manage multiple research and development programs/projects. 
  • Plan, execute, and control program cost, technical performance, and schedule. 
  • Provide leadership to cross-functional teams including engineers, technicians, and functional support staff.
  • Maintain accountability for profit and loss for assigned programs/projects. 
  • Coordinate and support customer engagements, including customer visits, executive briefings, and leadership reviews.
  • Travel as required to support program execution and customer engagement (approximately 25% travel).
